ABOUT DENTIST STEVEN E. NICHOLSON
Dr. Nicholson has been practicing dentistry for more than a quarter century in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Most of those years have been spent treating patients at his current location, first as a contracting dentist for Dr. Michael Weiss and now as the owner of the practice.
After receiving his high school diploma from Hazleton High School, Dr. Nicholson went to King’s College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. Afterward, he attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, receiving his DMD degree.
Born and raised in Hazleton, Dr. Nicholson is the product of a blue-collar neighborhood which consisted of families of various backgrounds. Coal mining once dominated the area, slowly replaced by an ever-growing mixture of carpenters, electricians, mechanics, plumbers, factory workers, and day-laborers. Along with the various styles of work came an array of languages, religious denominations, and ethnic backgrounds. This diversity was a product of immigration waves at different times, bringing hard-working people with strong beliefs. Lessons learned in such a neighborhood are kept a lifetime.
The simplest lessons are the best:
- Don’t fix what isn’t broken.
- Respect is earned, not given.
- Just as in baseball, never leave a man stranded.
- Take the job seriously, but don’t take yourself seriously.
